Navigating the Climate Change Frontier on Boards

The Chapter Zero UAE sees the next years as critical in our response to the global challenge posed by climate change. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report 2021 signals a ‘code red’ for humanity and emissions globally need to be halved by 2030 to ensure the average temperature rise does not exceed 1.5 degrees by 2050.

The UAE met our historic challenge on 13 December 2023 by delivering, together with the participants of COP28, the UAE Consensus which has, at its heart, the first Global Stocktake (GST), setting out the ambitious actions needed to keep 1.5°C within reach.
